Everyone’s primary concern is that babies are born as healthy as possible and are able to maintain that good health throughout their childhood, adolescence and adulthood.

The Institute continues to provide information in the area of sexual and reproductive health by exploring creative and effective methods of reaching people with preventive health information. To share this information the following goals have been established by the Saskatchewan Prevention Institute:

  • Provide preconception health information to people before they are contemplating pregnancy.
  • Provide preconception health information to people before they are planning a pregnancy.
  • Understand the number of adolescent pregnancies and outcomes for mothers and infants in Saskatchewan.
  • Provide parents with resources to allow them to have meaningful discussions with their children about issues including sexual and reproductive health.
